Description and Criteria for the Summer REU hosted by the SoMSS department

About this research opportunity

Hands on experience with modeling, computation and analyses of applied mathematics and physics problems including cancer models, weather models, environmental and geophysical fluid dynamics, numerical methods, machine learning and mathematical biology. The REU can be completely remote, if the students are local, they can meet with mentors on campus on mutual convenient times. The experience will last around 8 weeks from May 30th to July 21st.

Eligibility

The Eligibility Requirements:

  • STEM Major
  • GPA 3.25
  • Completed at least Calc II (preferably Calc II and III), and either Differential Equations or Linear Algebra by the end of Spring 2023
  • ASU Online student enrolled in degree programs within The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
